Which case has Raj Kundra been charged with?

The Mumbai police announced that five individuals were being held for allegedly forcing females into porn films on February 4, 2015. These aspiring actresses from different parts of India would be offered roles in a web series by the police. They would then change the script and threaten to expose the women on the day. If they refused to change the script, the women were asked to pay the cost of the preparations.

After the films were shot, they made them available via mobile apps and offered subscriptions similar to those on mainstream OTT platforms. Then, they would post advertisements on social media platforms. This was also illegal as pornography in India is illegal.

These movies were shot in what and where?

Policemen say that it would usually be a one-day shoot in a bungalow near Mumbai. A minimum of five to six people would work as directors, dialogue writers and locations scouters. The lockdown made these apps extremely popular, with some of them having a subscriber base that reached into the thousands, according to the police.

Kundra applied for anticipatory bail in Month in connection to a case that was registered by the Maharashtra Cyber Police last year. The Cyber police also registered an FIR in that case against several platforms they claimed were involved with the promotion of pornographic content. The anticipatory bail application will be decided by the court next week.
